MARTYN SCRIVEN

Martyn has been a very long-term supporter of squash although has only won Island titles at veteran and vintage levels. Still ‘hacking’ around court but playing more Racketball nowadays, Martyn was President of Jersey Squash and Racketball Club for almost 20 years.

A career banker, who retired from his senior Barclays’ Director roles in 2003, since which time he has worked in Private Equity and Funds Management mainly as a NED. Martyn is also a founder and current Trustee of both Jersey Homes Trust and Jersey Finance.​​

WARD JENNER

Ward has been an active member of Racketball Ouest since inception and occasionally wins the odd match in the Diamond division out in the wild west. More often he is found floundering in the St Clement’s team league on a Wednesday evening but is at his best either working behind, or propping up, the bar. Has formerly had the dubious honour of being the only player in history to captain both Jersey and Guernsey at cricket. Son, nephew and niece are all on the honours board at JSRC as age group squash champions. Ward is unlikely to replicate these achievements.

JONATHAN PETERS

Jonathan first ventured onto the squash courts in 1964, aged 12, at the New Era cinema site - long before any of the current facilities were built. Early encounters representing Victoria Colllege in inter-insulars and local leagues were followed by many years playing for the OV’s at squash. Recently becoming a septuagenarian, he still plays for the OV’s in the more sedate sport of Racketball. Although squash has tended to dominate his racket sport preferences, he represented Jersey at Badminton, both as a junior and senior player and tennis as a veteran! His other sporting interests include hockey, windsurfing and golf. Having been a retailer all his working life with a particular interest in IT, Jonathan is now retired and is keen to see the sports he so enjoyed, flourish on the island, particularly with reference to the next generation of players.​

KATE CADIGAN

Kate is a long time squash enthusiast having first picked up a racket age 6 at the old rugby club courts. Squash has, and continues to be, a big part of her life whether as a player, volunteer or member of which ever club community she has been fortunate enough to be a part of. She is passionate about the development and inclusivity of squash and racketball and the role volunteers play in this. She hopes to help others access similar opportunities and experiences to the ones the sport has given her. 

Kate has captained county and university teams and played for Wellington and the South West of England. She has also represented Jersey at a number of Island Games, the European championships and the 2010 Commonwealth games. She was previously on the JSRA committee for 8 years. Formerly a paramedic, Kate is a mother of 3 young children and works in communications.
